Unified Structure
KAREL IPv50 presents the advantage of unified structure and extensibility in which more than one PBX may operate as a single system. IPv50 combines many of the product functions of PBX, IP-PBX and IP-Gateway in a single structure. The system software runs on Linux and supports open software architecture with TAPI and CSTA support. Hence, while many of the applications are already present on the PBX, additional applications can also be integrated into the system. IPv50 has the power to provide support for many applications.
KAREL IPv50 supports up to 100 IP Extensions and IP Trunks. The TDM Capacity can be expanded up to 56 lines on a single system and up to 168 lines on three systems. The system provides expandable capacity options for higher capacities by the addition of cards or licenses without the need to change the PBX.
Remote Office Applications
In companies with more than one office location, offices can become an extension of the PBX from any place with internet connection without any additional hardware. An extension located in a branch office can subscribe to the PBX over internet with an IP phone, softphone, WiFi phone, IP DECT phone or a smart mobile phone with VoIP support. WiFi and IP DECT extensions are supported by system similar to standard SIP extensions. Users of different IPv50 system scan call each other with short numbers over IP and higher-capacity company communication networks can be established.
Mobility
KAREL IPv50 users can communicate over extension numbers independent of their location. Communication can be established over IP hardware & software products, such as smart phones with VoIP support, soft-phones, IP DECT, WiFi phones, from any point as an in-house extension of the system. These extensions can utilize the whole of a centralized application over single numbering plan.
Through IP DECT system which can be integrated to the PBX over IP network, it is possible to use the handset with same extension number both in the head office and any other place that is integrated with PBX via base station.
With new generation smart phones that have mobile extension applications and support VoIP functions, it is possible to make a call as an IP extension of the PBX, receive incoming calls, listen to voice mail and utilize all PBX services offered to IP extensions.
KAREL IPv50 provides flexibility to access the system from anywhere as an extension by using VoIP-supported mobile phones and softphones over 3G, WiFi and XDSL connections.
Unified Communication Applications
KAREL IPv50 provides you with ass the advantages of unified communication applications, such as voice-over-IP, fax-over-IP, voice & video call recording, conference calls, voice mail to e-mail support, voice record to e-mail support, presence, instant messaging, remote extension and remote office. Voice messages, call records and system fault notifications can be forwarded to predefined e-mail adresses with the aid of embedded voice mail and e-mail applications. In this way, it is possible to access requested data and voice mails from any location.
KAREL IPv50 IP PBX supports fixed and mobile communication convergence solutions via mobile extension applications on smart mobiles. Since every mobile phone which has a mobile soft-phone and which can also support VoIP functions can be defined as an extension to the system, users of these phones can respond to incoming calls, listen to their voice mail messages and utilize all the services provided to other IP extensions.
The user’s availability and active/passive information can be viewed depending on the personal text entry. Accordingly, it is possible to have access to the related person in the fastest and most suitable way. All extensions of IPv50 can easily monitor each other’s availability.
Users can exchange messages among themselves and therefore communication is made instantly. There is no waiting duration similar to e-mail communication.
Audio Quality and Security
Thanks to the powerful audio algorithms in the software, KAREL IPv50 users equipped with HD terminals experience excellent audio quality which is far beyond their expectations.
KAREL IPv50 ensures audio quality and communication continuity. The system has the capability to detect package losses and divert the communication to an alternative route (a.g. PSTN) until satisfactory quality is obtained. Alternative route definitions can be done according to VoIP connection at trunks or quality of service (QoS).
IPv50 has the QoS support which monitors the performance on the network and takes necessary precautions for the continuity of audio quality. This is especially useful for the cases where the same infrastructure is used both for audio and datawith the purpose of lowering infrastructure investments.
The top level of security is ensured with standard sRTP/TLS encryption support without the need to install VPN systems between locations.
Economy
- Unified Structure : Composing of networks with the PBXs in more than one location will allow people to call each other with a single number plan, providing ease of use in communication and eceonomy.
- Remote Office Support : Connection of IP Phones in remote offices as extensions to the central PBX over internet without any extra equipment, provides economy from gateway costs. Branch offices can communicate with each other with an internal number only.
- IP Extension Applications : The utilization of web-based phones and VoIP-supported mobile phones allows making calls as an in-house extension from anywhere in the world hence provides economy in communication costs.
- IP Trunk / Operator Applications : Connecting directly with operators providing VoIP services over the IP trunk may provide up to 50% additional economy on communication costs, since these operators always have better rates than PSTN operators.
- Limiting Call Durations : Calls made on designated lines may have time limitations.
- Monthly Call Durations : The predetermined call time is defined for each line and when the limit is reached, this line is put out of service and calls are diverted to another route. This is a control tool especially for the calling schemes of GSM operators which are defined in minutes.
- Auto Attendant : The basic Auto Attendant features are offered to the users with the integrated EIVR feature, as a tool for lowering the investment costs when there is no need for advance applications.
- Integrated Gateway : The Media Gateway Modules installed on IPv50 as optional items allow the conversion of voice between IP (SIP/H323) & TDM lines and provide the optimization of voice quality by using special algorithms. Thus, there is no need for an external gateway and you can save up additional equipment cost.
- LCR Feature : Provides economy on communication with flexible and extension based programmable LCR feature.
- Conference Feature : The conference feature provides shorter meeting periods and travelling costs are reduced.
- Remote Management : The service / manitenance speed is increased and the cost is lowered with the remote management.
Advantages Offered by IPv50
- IP, Digital and Analog extensions can be incorporated within the same system without the need for an additional infrastructure. The feature of becoming a system extension by using a softphone, desktop IP phone, videophone, VoIP supported mobile phone, IP DECT, analog or digital telephone ensures flexibility and economy.
- Accessibility from Anywhere : KAREL IPv50 provides you with accessibility from anywhere with an Internet connection. You will be able to continue with your communication as an extension of the system from anywhere by using VoIP-supported mobile phones or softphones over 3G, WiFi and XDSL connections.
- Video Call : All IP extensions connected to IPv50 can make video calls between themselves or through external IP lines using videophones, special sets or softphones. They can also see the video call contents from their own phones.
- Peripheral Flexibility : IPv50 supports SIP on the extension side and SIP&H323 on the trunk side. Thus it provides the flexibility to connect to systems that support these standards and use different peripherals.
- Call Recording Facilities : The automatic voice-recording feature integrated into the system will record calls of the desired port without the need for additional equipment. These calls can be sent to the e-mail adress of the related port and to the administrator if desired. At the same time, users can record their calls by marking them while they are talking and receive the recording as an e-mail at the end of their call. KAREL IPv50 is designed to manage call records in a simple way and provide easy accessto the records from anywhere with an internet connection. Additionally, KAREL GKS Call Recording Unit can also be integrated with the system if call records should be stored at a central PC. With KAREL GKS, it is possible to store, filter and monitor the records of extension calls.
- Conference : The conference feature is a call platform that provides the participation of more than two extension in one call. Conference call reduces the cost and time spent for meeting with people at remote locations. KAREL IPv50 supports four conferences with four users each.
- Auto Attendant and Voice Mail Applications : KAREL IPv50 offers enhanced Auto Attendant & Voice Mail serviceswith the 8-Channel LEVM card and DDIVR application. Calls are diverted with the greeting and service messages loaded on the LEVM card. Voice mail can be forwarded to the e-mail adress of the extensions and hence the messages can be accessiblefrom anywhere with an Internet connection. It is possible to divert the calls to the mailbox of the operator and the voice mail along with the calling number can be sent to the operator by e-mail for any predefined period of time, e.g.when the system is in night mode. By utilizing specifically designed tools, customized scenarios can be prepared other than thosegreeting scenarios loaded on the PBX.
- When there is no LEVM card on the system, Auto Attendant features are presented to the user with the integrated Auto Attendant (EIVR) application that is embedded in IPv50 software. There are different scenarios, such as Welcome Message, Busy, Not Responding, Operator Busy, Not Registered in the System and Disabled for Calls Coming from Auto Attendant. EIVR and DDIVR applications can be managed remotely over the web-based PBX management interface and all setings as well as uploads can be performed remotely. In this way, modifications can be done much faster with lower costs. The language of system messages and current message records can be changed and new language can be added for messages.
- Web-Based Management : KAREL IPv50 comes with a manageable web server whşch reduces support and maintenance costs. Also extensions may connect to the “Personal Assistant” Web Interface with their own user code, which has an assigned authorization level, either as user, operator or administrator along with their passwords. They can change the parameters, personal divert settings, voice mail settings and their own private phonebooks as per their authorization levels. Mobile user can be accessed as long as there is an internet connection and they can change their personal paramteres.
KAREL IPv50 can be remotely managed and greeting messages and announcements can be changed both on the DDIVR and the embedded-free of charge EIVR. Since all adjustments and uploads can be made remotely, the changes take effect much faster and at lower costs. - IP Facsimile Support : High quality facsimile communication can be executed over the IP Lines with T.38 Fax-Over-IP support. It is not obligatory to use the PSTN line for transmitting and receiving fax messages.
- Call Detail Recording (CDR) : Call details can be recorded and then monitored via Net-CM & Web-CM programs. With these features, IPv50 allows you to trace the voice traffic of your organization and try to find economical solutions.
